Employment

Financial Analyst Intern

Cirrus Asset Management, Inc.
  • Analyzed potential financial returns from acquiring for-sale multi-family properties to suggest new investment opportunities.
  • Performed Waterfall Analysis to determine whether refinancing, selling, or doing nothing maximizes returns.
  • Optimized and implemented Microsoft Excel templates for management fee calculations, commercial investment analysis, and commercial budgets.
July 2019 - August 2019

Student Professional Worker

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
  • Designed solutions to reduce a year-long lead time in providing customers with electrical plans.
  • Reduced variability in customer requirements on forms to ensure concise production criteria.

Technical Experience

Factory Simulation Optimization

Purdue University
As the facility layout sub-team lead, we were tasked with designing a new layout for a factory that produces 10 unique parts on 25 machines. Four categories of changes were tested: facility layout, ordering policy, job-selection, and machine selection. We tested each alternative solution in Arena Simulation Software.
  • Facility Layout: Grouped machines into work cells by grouping machines by part, ergo reducing transport times and setup-times.
  • Ordering Policy: Through nonlinear optimization, an optimal reorder point and reorder quantity was found.
  • Job-Selection: Optimized the queue rankings through implementing a hybrid selection rule minimizing the shortest remaining production time and setup time.
  • Machine-Selection: Implemented a hybrid selection rule that minimizes the queue length, setup time, and shortest travel time.
The work in process (WIP) reduced by 26% and the time in system decreased by 42%.

Automated Fall Monitoring System

Purdue University

As the team leader, I led a team of 5 to design and analyze a camera system to minimize a person’s time on floor following a fall.

  • Utilized a Hierarchical Task Analysis, Fault Task Analysis, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to determine design principles, functional requirements and failure types of proposed camera tracking system.

October 2019 - December 2019

Northrop Grumman - Part Flow Visualization Tool

Purdue University
  • Consulted with an engineer at Northrop Grumman to identify scheduling conflicts between parts with varying security restrictions, resulting in an increase in back-orders.
  • Designed and implemented an interactive software tool in Python to illustrate part flows throughout the facility and to highlight production rooms with potential security conflicts between incompatible parts.
  • Performed usability testing to evaluate the tool’s design and utility with sample users.
